The Civil Service Commission is an independent body; it serves as the pivot on which all activities of the MDA’s are regulated. The commission consists of the policy Unit and the Administrative/Secretarial Arm.
This is made up of the office of the Chairman, four members and the office of the Permanent Secretary. The Permanent secretary serves as both Head of administration and secretary. The chairman is the Executive Officer while The Permanent secretary is the Accounting officer.
The administrative/secretarial arm is headed by the Permanent secretary, supported by four Directors who head the following Departments:
There is also an internal audit, a legal Unit and a Public Relations Unit each headed by a professional with relevant competency, from the office of the Accountant-General, the Ministries of Justice and Information. The organogram of this is shown in figure 1 and page 5
As at 31st December, 2017 the staff strength of the commission stood at eighty three (83) with forty (40)
males while females are forty-three (43)
